About me

I started at Zer0 to 5ive, a small agency where I spent nine years running communications directly for CEOs and CMOs. Media tours, national product launches, and a lot of practice making complicated stories land with skeptical audiences.

Then I went in-house. At Greenphire I built marketing from the ground up for a clinical trial technology company, and learned how closely content and sales need to work together: our content and messaging touched 80% of new deals. At Veeva I led marketing for the medical device segment. At Accenture I spent six years as content lead for the Software & Platforms practice, running thought leadership, research, executive voice, and media and analyst relations for a global business. Most recently I led marketing at Open Tier Systems, an early-stage tech company.

The through-line: I find the insight inside a company, turn it into a story buyers believe, and make sure sales can use it. I also use AI tools every day to do that faster, and I help teams do the same.

Outside work, I stay active, always have a book going, keep up with my three busy boys, and get to the beach every chance I get.

What I do

Four things I'm hired to do, usually all at once.

Content strategy

Deciding what a company should say, to whom, at which point in the buying decision, and what it should stop producing. Then building the plan, team, and measurement to deliver it.

Sales enablement

Messaging, battle cards, case studies, and RFP content that sellers actually use, built with sales and product rather than handed to them.

Thought leadership and research

Original research turned into benchmark reports, points of view, and campaigns that earn press and open sales conversations.

Communications and executive voice

One clear story carried across media, analysts, events, and internal channels, and leaders' profiles built through bylines, podcasts, and keynote stages.

How I build a content strategy

AI has made content cheap to produce, so volume is no longer an advantage. The advantage is deciding what's worth saying, having something only your company can say, and getting it in front of buyers while they're deciding. This is how I work, with where each principle came from.

  1. 1

Start with the business goal, not the editorial calendar

Before any content plan, I ask what the business needs to change this year: reposition the brand, launch a product line, grow existing clients, win a new market, or get employees working differently. Sales is one of those goals, not the only one. Each goal gets its own audience, message, and measure of success.

At Greenphire, the goal was moving the brand beyond a single product. At Open Tier, I aligned marketing to company goals through quarterly EOS planning with the leadership team.

  2. 2

Find what only you can say

Generic content is now free. Proprietary data, clients telling their own stories, and expert points of view are not. I look for what a competitor or a chatbot can't reproduce, and build around it.

At Accenture, a 6,000-consumer survey and Uber telling its own advertising story in a case study gave us proof no competitor could claim.

  3. 3

Make fewer, bigger things, and work them hard

One strong research asset can feed a year of articles, keynotes, press, webinars, and sales tools. I plan the derivatives before the anchor piece is written.

Greenphire's annual payments study fed press, conference talks, and sales conversations for years.

  4. 4

    Put it where decisions happen

Content that lives only on a blog does little. I build sales enablement, proposal content, account-based programs, and executive talking points into the plan from day one.

At Greenphire, I built a library of on-brand, on-message RFP answers for 100+ bids a year. At Accenture, the RevOps report launched with battle cards for account teams.

  5. 5

Measure against the goal, and cut what doesn't work

Pipeline and revenue when the goal is sales. Perception, share of voice, adoption, or client growth when it isn't. I retire formats and topics that don't move the number, however busy they look.

HubSpot attribution at Greenphire showed content touching 80% of new deals. At Open Tier, client-focused content grew existing-client revenue 15%.

Research, brand, and sales

Turning a payments vendor into the clinical trial industry's reference point

Greenphire was known for one product. To reposition it as an end-to-end clinical trial partner, I partnered with a leading industry organization on original research into trial payment delays and turned it into an annual benchmark, the Clinical Payments Study.

Each edition fed a year of press, 12+ conference and podcast appearances, and sales conversations about problems bigger than any single product.

The strategic call: stop marketing the product and own the problem. Payment delays frustrated every trial sponsor and site, and no one had data on them. Owning that data made Greenphire the authority on the whole category.

Result: A benchmark cited annually as the industry standard, 100+ press articles, and tripled pipeline for new product lines.

Research-led point of view

Making the case for radical reinvention in media and entertainment

Legacy media companies were cutting costs while Big Tech rewrote their industry. Working from a 6,000-consumer global survey, we built a point of view that argued incremental change was the real risk, and gave leaders a way to act on it: a reinvention spectrum and a THRIVE Index for scoring growth bets.

I took it to keynote stages at NAB, CES, and Shoptalk, pitched the data to national business press, and turned the report into client workshops.

The strategic call: make the point of view usable, not just provocative. The THRIVE Index gave executives a way to score their own bets, which turned a report into client workshops and sales meetings.

Result: $320M in new deal origination influenced, 29 media hits, 4,000+ report downloads, and speaking invitations at top-tier industry events.

Client story and sales enablement

Letting Uber make the case to every other platform

Big platforms were sitting on rich user data but hadn't turned it into advertising revenue. Accenture could say it knew how. A client proving it would say it far better. I partnered with Uber to tell the story of building its advertising business in its own voice, then carried that story into ad-tech trade press, a CES stage Accenture shared with Uber, and a LinkedIn campaign aimed at platform executives.

The strategic call: let the client make the argument. Uber's results gave Accenture differentiation and proof no competitor could claim, and gave sales one asset that started the conversation on its own: if Uber found a new revenue stream in its data, what is your platform leaving on the table?

Result: 6,000+ web visits as a top-performing asset, coverage in ad-tech trades, a shared CES stage with Uber, and a repeatable sales play for other platforms.

Executive voice

Taking a practice leader from no external profile to a go-to industry voice

He had deep expertise and zero third-party visibility. I mined his client conversations for contrarian, experience-backed takes, then packaged them as contributed articles, podcast appearances, and speaking pitches, borrowing credibility from client partners and top-tier outlets early on.

The strategic call: borrow credibility before asking for it. Early pieces were co-authored with client partners and placed with established outlets, so later solo pitches landed with a track record behind them.

Result: Five Forbes articles, an MIT Sloan byline, six interviews, three podcasts, and a CES speaking slot in under 18 months, plus new C-suite conversations for the practice.

Research and sales enablement

Turning a research report into a sales tool

Only 6% of software companies had mature revenue operations. I led a research report that quantified the gaps in data, AI use, and leadership alignment, then went past diagnosis to a practical playbook executives could adopt.

I built it to sell, not just to publish: battle cards and talking points for account teams, launched alongside the public report.

The strategic call: build the sales assets alongside the report instead of after it, so account teams could use the findings in deals the week it launched.

Result: $200M in pipeline influenced, a keynote at SaaStr, four trade features, and a top-performing landing page.

AI adoption and enablement

Getting a whole company, and its clients, to actually use AI

Buying Copilot licenses is easy. Getting people to change how they work is not. I built a quarterly webinar series with Microsoft around role-based "day in the life" sessions for sales, operations, marketing, admin, and finance, so every attendee saw their own job in the demo.

I paired the training with thought leadership on AI safety and security, which answered the question that stalls most rollouts: is this safe to use here?

The strategic call: organize training by role, not by feature. People adopt a tool when they see their own workday in the demo.

Result: 200+ Microsoft Copilot licenses in eight months, and webinar content reused as client-facing adoption training.
